Curriculum Statement
Curriculum Intent
Our curriculum ensures that pupils not only achieve academically but also develop into kind, confident and capable individuals, ready to contribute positively to society.
By placing safety, community, kindness and respect at the heart of everything we do, we enable every pupil to learn, grow and succeed.
Our curriculum is designed to meet the complex social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs of our pupils while providing a broad, balanced and ambitious education.
Through a topic-based approach, we aim to:
Re-engage pupils with learning by making it meaningful, relevant and connected
Develop emotional regulation, self-awareness and resilience
Build secure academic foundations in literacy and numeracy
Equip pupils with the cultural capital and life skills needed to succeed beyond school with particular regard to knowledge about their local area
We intend for pupils to become:
Self-aware individuals who understand their emotions, triggers and strengths
Reflective learners who can learn from mistakes and repair relationships
Kind, empathetic and respectful members of their community
Confident communicators who can express their needs and collaborate with others
