Curriculum
Literacy and numeracy are at the heart of the All’s Well curriculum because they are the gateway to accessing so much of the world outside of school.
We have high expectations of what our students can achieve and this is reflected in the ambitious goals we set for pupils in our curriculum choices. We want to develop curious and resilient learners who have developed the knowledge and skills they need to lead meaninful and fulfilling lives.
Our educational philosophy is that our pupils learn best when they perceive meaning in their learning and we aim to bring learning to life with meaningful topics that develop essential knowledge and skills while bring relevance and mening to the worldaround them
We aim to provide an education that is ambitious, meaningful and measurable whilst also nurturing the physical, emotional, and social development of our learners. The curriculum is designed to promote critical thinking, creativity, and a lifelong love for learning.
Our curriculum is structured to provide high-expectations for learners in a way that meets the needs of learners with a range of special educational needs, while also allowing for flexibility and innovation. The intended learning for each year group (Year 7 to Year 11) builds upon the knowledge and skills acquired in the previous one across core subjects such as English, mathematics, and science, as well as a range of foundation subjects, ensuring a broad and balanced education. Our starting intention is that our curriculum is accessible to learners upon entry and assesses their starting point before progressing with an active and knowledge-rich curriculum that strengthens core literacy and numeracy skills. Developing cultural capital and a sense of foundational British values is also part of the curriculum vision.
All’sWell intends to register as an exam centre with awarding bodies alongside our existing relationship with Gateway Qualifications. Decisions on qualifications our future learners may be ready to take between 14 and 16 will be considered when the potential of our intake is evaluated.
